Become an Officer

Want to be at the heart of ASME?

Become an officer! learn how to be a part of not just a team, but a close family. Become the backbone of ASME, the inner-workings, the ones behind the scenes. As an officer, you will be able to work directly with us and help us plan the org's events!

Isn't that cool? Officers are elected by you guys and gals, the members, during the spring.

Participate on Tours

At ASME UTSA we take pride in helping our members get a peek at what it's like to be an engineer in companies of your chosen career area. We get together with big companies like Navistar, Nasa, Valero, and others to bring you amazing tours of their facilities, so you can see what it is like to be an engineer!

Network

ASME offers plenty of opportunities where you can grow your professional network, whether getting you contact with professors, industry engineers, or even just your fellow UTSA peers, ASME can get you that connection to jumpstart your career. We believe in the phrase: "It's not about who you know, but about who knows you."

opportunities. Throughout the semester, be apart of ASME projects like the UTSA Pumpkin Smash as part the ASME team building a Trebuchet; volunteer for the Helotes'  Engineering Barbeque; and participate in our volunteering opportunities like helping the food back, and being a apart of our community. Visit our events

One of ASME's goals for our members is bringing them fun, career-worthy, professional-building, and knowledgeable events that will help you towards becoming the best engineer you can be. Our events offer you important skills, invaluable tips you can use in navigating the engineering world, and a place to belong. We have general meetings, guest speakers, org collabs, workshops, and chill socials. Attending any of these helps you score points that can get you amazing prizes like scholarships, Graduation regalia, and ASME merch!

ASME was a building block in my career helping me learn how to maneuver, coordinate, and empathize in a professional setting. It gave the opportunities to meet and network with leaders and people in positions of power, not limited to those in the mechanical engineering field.

It is a force in the uplifting of the local commonwealth, from students, departments, and all the way to the universities it serves.
